Progress! Feeling some relief :-)

Feeling more at ease-finally some clarity and what can be expected coming into focus. We had consultation with Dr Picozzi at Virginia Mason in Seattle today. They serve more pancreatic cancer patients than most any other clinic on the west coast, so they have more experience in it than community practitioners. Dr Picozzi is offering a trial that is the best to date, and time is of essence, so we are proceeding with me getting tested and signed up and started on chemo over the next two weeks, while we see what MD Anderson has to offer (surgery and radiation therapy are not options). Not even experts can judge the success of one treatment over another so it will not be a decision factor. A big factor is quality of our life -traveling to Seattle is more accomodating and affordable than Houston. Both Virginia Mason and MD Anderson have reputation for good patient centered practices.
